Sunday Matinee: The Power of Consciousness with Bruce Lipton

Vitruvian ManQue pasa Soul Rebels?

See if you can use this info to empower yourselves further and rearrange your reality tunnels in a manner more conducive to wellness.

Old thinking – Genetic determinism – genes are the only arbiter of your health profile.

New thinking (well relatively new anyways, been experimentally verified for a few decades now) – Epigenetics – the environment in which a cell develops plays an equally critical role in the development and proper functioning of the cell. Genes do NOT control life.

Bruce Lipton is one of the pioneers in this field of research.  He also touches on the mind-body connection to well-being and the effect of negative conditioning on the subconscious. If you find Bruce interesting, you might also like Dr. Gabor Mate.  Mate’s a bit less colloquial and requires some digestion, but you can check him out on YouTube. Bruce reminds of a friendly fella who you might bump into while waiting at the paint section of a Home Depot. Similar premises underlie the work of both men however.

Seems like eating meat fed on crap and food processed with even more crap, an inundation with violence and a disconnection from the sources of love and support might have a bit more of an impact on your physical and mental well-being than you were initially led to believe.

One love,

Thought you might get a kick outta these amigos.

A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or reinterpret the first part. It is frequently used for humorous or dramatic effect, sometimes producing an anticlimax.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

If I agreed with you we’d both be wrong.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

A bank is a place that will lend you money, if you can prove that you don’t need it.

I didn’t say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with “Guess” on it…so I said “Implants?”

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why do Americans choose from just two people to run for president and 50 for Miss America ?

Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman.

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.

I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not sure.

I wonder if this qualifies: The rule of law works, until our masters say it doesn’t.

Share the Wealth: The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz

CWCRDeep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic. – Frank Herbert

Avatars of Avalon,

I like to define the “Good” as a perspective grounded in ecocentric holism etched over a scaffold of compassion, love and grace. I don’t think the “every man for himself” or “what’s in it for me” anthropocentric thinking espoused by the crafters of the Noble Lies are serving this human experiment well at all. Now in order for this experiment to progress towards the “Good,” every man, woman, and child has to realize the wondrous magic involved in turning avocados and apricots into art, music and philosophy – with equal admiration allotted for the avocado and the art. Sounds easy enough, but the catch is that you have to realize this majesty not only in yourself, but in every other expression of life.  My hope with this series has been to aid others in achieving this realization.

Now you’re always free to discount these shares as the unfettered idealism of a nutty sun-gazer with a web connection. But to my fellow Jedi, I hope that I’ve overcome the presumptive burden required to establish sanity. Or at least come as close to it as a dude with numbers in his name possibly can. The coincidence control office facilitated this gem some time back and another voyager recently returned it to the fore of my consciousness. I immediately thought it a great fit for the series. Though published in the early 1600s under an anonymous authorship, the Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz contains motifs applicable today. I guess that’s a testament to its timelessness.

Esoteric contemplation aside, the Wedding is a fun narrative about a mystic who goes on a seven day adventure of self discovery.  The story is filled with intrigue, adventure, and mystic brushes with the tangential domain. I recommend that you give it a once over and then read the commentary of the text by Jack Courtis over at the Rosicrucian library. I’ll link to both at the bottom.

Here is the introduction provided by Mr. Courtis in his commentary:

“The Chymical Marriage is one of the seminal documents of the Western esoteric tradition. It has a depth and complexity that give it an almost infinite amount of meaning. This commentary represents only one attempt to understand that meaning. It is easier if we see the Chymical Marriage in its proper context.

For example, it is divided into “7 Days”. This is a clear reference to Genesis ch 1. The very first sentence refers to “an evening before Easter day”. Hence this is a reference to Christianity and therefore, the Gospels and other parts of the New Testament. Furthermore, the entire work is alchemical in character and it is therefore appropriate to consider the Emerald Tablet of Hermes. In the first chapter there is a clear allusion to Plato’s Cave and that brings with it by necessary implication, a great deal of Greek philosophy and metaphysics. There is much else but this is sufficient to demonstrate that the Chymical Marriage is to be understood in its particular cultural and historical milieu.

Technically, this document is one of the Rosicrucian Manifestos and they in turn, are part of the late mature phase of the Hermetic Revival of the Renaissance. But that does not assist the reader. What is the Chymical Marriage all about?

We believe that it is an allegorical description of the inner journey of personal transformation. This is our interpretation and we invite you to join us as we conduct this journey together.”

While it may seem tempting to jump right into the commentary, I believe you’ll only do yourself a disservice if you take that route. I think it beneficial to invest the time to read the text and get a sense of the protagonists’ musings as the journey unfolds.

Now for my fellow Matrix fans out there, pay attention to C.R.C.’s dream when he initially receives the invitation to the wedding. I think the scene in which Neo is unplugged from the Matrix and brought into the light regarding the truth of his existence was thoroughly inspired by this book.

Always remember to take the psychology of the time period into account when you read these old books amigos. In the 1600s, the idea of man as a fallen being was a commonly held notion. Ergo the dispensation of salvation has to come from an external source. Today, I think we’ve progressed to an awareness of the powers underpinning our own natures, but we need help to kindle our Divine Sparks. I sincerely hope you find this work both useful in that process and enjoyable at the same time.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

The Yellow Middle

Surveyors of Olympus,

In Taoism, the middle path to the yellow castle where the emperor sits, can only be approached by a reconciliation of the Yin and Yang polarities.  This coincidence of opposites is the merger of our reason and passion. Neither holding sway, but maintaining a delicate balance shall lead one to self-knowledge. Understanding of the Hidden Law will remain asymptotic if we divest ourselves from feeling. Reason and passion should be united in matrimony.

The Hidden Law

The Hidden Law does not deny
Our laws of probability,
But takes the atom and the star
And human beings as they are,
And answers nothing when we lie.

It is the only reason why
No government can codify,
And legal definitions mar
The Hidden Law.

Its utter patience will not try
To stop us if we want to die:
When we escape It in a car,
When we forget It in a bar,
These are the ways we’re punished by
The Hidden Law.

-W.H. Auden

Sunday Matinee: Double Feature

Riders of Garuda,

Hope all is well in your reality tunnels. I apologize for not visiting your cyber cribs as often in the last couple days, but a break from the web is necessary for sanity preservation. If you can, I recommend turning your router, smart phone, anything with a web interface off for a 24 hr period at least once a week. But, it’s only a suggestion, you:ve gotta make the final call.  Couldn’t leave you stranded today however. Just in case you had some of those Girl Scout Cookies laying around.

I’ve got a pair today as In order to get a handle on Courtney Browns’ ideas, a bit of background helps.

First is Michael Talbot’s interview as part of the Thinking Allowed series. If you would like more info on Talbots’ ideas, check out his book The Holographic Universe. In this interview, he discusses how the brain functions as a narrow band hologram generator.

Next up is Dr. Courtney Brown and the revolutionary ideas that have come out of the research into remote viewing and quantum mechanics. I shared Zero Point Beyond a few weeks back and if you would like to know more about remote viewing, click the link. The positivists usually cringe when you start talking about remote viewing, but I love the reaction when it’s revealed that the research was conducted at the esteemed Princeton University. I guess that somehow validates or adds credence to the research. Courtney Brown collates some remarkable ideas and I hope that you find them useful in piecing this puzzle together.

No separation between the macro and micro worlds and a universe with past, present and future existing simultaneously? I can see the tarot card readers and astrologers chuckling, “Told ya!” lol  What would happen to the scourges of wealth inequality and war if we all operated with perfect information? Ah well, it’s gotta start with an idea.

I’ll leave you with this amigos, holding on to anger is like holding on to hot coals, you’re the one getting burned.

One love,

P.S. If you’d like to know more about this then Bell’s theorem, entanglement, Hugh Everett and David Bohm are good search terms to get going.

Sunday Matinee: The Extended Mind

Dr. Rupert Sheldrake makes a rather compelling case for a restructuring of the manner in which we conceptualize our interaction with reality.

ABSTRACT: “We have been brought up to believe that the mind is located inside the head. But there are good reasons for thinking that this view is too limited. Recent experimental results show that people can influence others at a distance just by looking at them, even if they look from behind and if all sensory clues are eliminated. And people’s intentions can be detected by animals from miles away. The commonest kind of non-local interaction mental influence occurs in connection with telephone calls, where most people have had the experience of thinking of someone shortly before they ring. Controlled, randomized tests on telephone telepathy have given highly significant positive results. Research techniques have now been automated and experiments on telepathy are now being conducted through the internet and cell phones, enabling widespread participation.”

It seems like science is catching up to the mystics and entheogenic voyagers. Whether you agree or disagree, it sure is great to explore new frontiers of thought.
